GDPR is here to stay! Be compliant! Be competitive! Let SMOOTH help you!
What is GDPR and how will it affect my business?
GDPR has been introduced in 2018. It is the EU General Data Protection Regulation and it applies to every business dealing with any kind of personal data from EU citizens (click here to discover which business is involved the most).
You have to be sure your data are guarded and processed according to the regulation, or you might encounter fines. On the other hand, GDPR guarantees your business easier-to-use data, allowing your company to identify areas where users needs are still unfulfilled.
Complying with the GDPR will allow your business to cut costs of collecting data, legacy applications and inventory software both in silos and inconsistent formats, also increasing your reliability towards your clients as we saw in our previous article.
What is SMOOTH?
SMOOTH project assists micro enterprises to adopt and be compliant with the GDPR by creating and performing easy-to-use and affordable tools, analysing their level of compliance with the new data protection regulation.
These tools will allow small businesses to adopt GDPR smoothly without incurring in additional costs, safeguarding the interests of the EU data subjects and creating awareness on the importance of being GDPR compliant (see also our article about the future of the GDPR and its specific future impact on businesses). Moreover, SMOOTH already developed an advanced cloud-based platform to validate the GDPR compliance of small businesses privacy policies and databases also on their websites and mobile applications.
